Geilston Hall

Geilston Hall, Cardross

The current Geilston Hall Committee were established in 1984 more than 100 years after the hall was built after a design by Charles Rennie Mackintosh (allegedly). we were asked to carry out an outline business plan which would highlight potential development priorities, carry out a community consultation and match these against prospective sources of finance.

Early on in the process, the need for an upgrade for the kitchen was identified which CLS helped the group attract around £7,500 for from Awards for All. As part of the postal survey, 30% of households responded, with the vast majority keen to support the hall, particularly if several identified building improvements could be implemented. The Group are now working with CLS to identify funding for a detailed technical survey of the building prior to its phased improvement.
